| ‘They Gave Me a Second Chance’: a Dallas Can! Student Testimonial | ||
| Dallas Can! is dedicated to giving students the help and encouragement they need to finish school—even when the student has lost all faith in himself, as was the case with one Dallas Can! student who shared his experience recently in his Speech Class. The student said he had been so frustrated at his old high school that he dropped out. When he eventually went back to try to graduate, “it was such a struggle that I began to think school wasn’t for me. That was until the people at ‘the Can! ’ did what they do best: they gave me a second chance.” This student recently passed all four parts of the TAKS test and will graduate in June. “Thanks to Dallas Can! , my life is on track and I am on my way to graduation,” the student said. “If it wasn’t for this school, I don’t know what I’d be doing, but it can’t be as good as what I am doing now.” The student’s speech “touched my soul and refreshed my energy as to why I do what I do daily,” Ross Ave. Campus Principal Donald L. Mills said. “Like Texans Can! CEO Richard Marquez says, ‘This is our pay.’” | ||
