Austin Can! Academy''s undefeated basketball team maintained their record as they were victorious at this year''s Charter School State Basketball Tournament.
"This was a well deserved victory and a great experience for our students. It was great way to end an undefeated season," said Austin Can! Athletic Director, Da''Sean Walker.
Eight teams from Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio participated in the tournament. For the second time, Austin Can! Academy hosted this event at the Doris Miller Gym in East Austin.
Chris Davis, Austin Can! Junior, lead the team to their 66-36 point championship victory. He also was honored as the tournament''s Most Valuable Player. The basketball team and other athletic programs are supported by the generous support of the Glimmer of Hope Foundation.
