Austin Can! students were invited as honorary guests at the West Austin Rotary Club meeting on Thursday, April 15th.
The students have been working in collaboration with Rotary members and their Advisor, Austin Can! English teacher, David DeLeon, to launch and grow the Interact Club at Austin Can! Interact club is a service centered, self-governing organization sponsored by the West Austin Rotary whose members provide support and guidance.
Through the students'' commitment to service, they have successfully hosted a number of projects that have impacted the surrounding community. Projects include a canned food drive that supported Thanksgiving food basket donations, mentorships at Andrews Elementary school and a toy drive.
SUCCESS STORIES
Erica has a beautiful smile, is very bubbly and very positive. She graduated in June and has been accepted to Texas A&M. She went to a large public high school before enrolling at Houston Can! She wasn’t having problems in the school.

Houston Can! Academy 1st Annual Golf Classic at Redstone Golf Course in Houston will be be held on October 27th 2010…shotgun start @ 1:00 benefiting the kids at Houston Can! Academies.
